About Pampas grass

Description

This giant pirenial clump forming grass grows to a height of 3-5m tall. It contains large fluffy flowerheads. The flowers of C. selloana has a white tinge where as C. jubata has a purple tinge. Its leaves are long and narrow with sharp edges. These plants could be mistaken for a similar native species of Cortaderia, but pampas grass is much larger and has erect flowerheads in comparison to the natvie species' drooping flower heads.

 

Control

Chemical control is the only effective method of removing this plant. Apply herbicide to the plant by spraying it onto the leaves.

Dispose of this plant at the green section at your local landfill site
